G.O.D. Cheeky Mooncakes!

Mid-autumn festival is round the corner!

And my favourite HK store has launched their annual limited edition cheeky mooncakes!

Dan happened to bring me to G.O.D. to place my order and luckily they had stock readily available! Swiped 10 at a go to take advantage of the “Buy 10 Get 1 Free” Promo. How freaking cute are the gift bags??

Each mooncake comes adorably in a box that resembles the traditional chinese lunar calendar. For those curious, on the bottom left it reads “Ok for self-consumption or gifting” and the bottom right reads “Not ok to store for 3 months”.

The funniest part? It comes in 8 different cheeky butt designs! Yes, it brings the meaning of “mooning” to a whole ‘nutha level.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to pick the butt you want (erm, yeah…that doesn’t sound quite right). Which is all part of the fun – the excitement as you open the box and guess which butt you’re gonna get!

I contemplated briefly whether my relatives would be offended. But you know what? They thought it was hilaaariooussss!! It was such a joy to see my ah ma, my mum, my sis and my ah-yi (auntie) laugh til their bellies hurt and tears rolling down their cheeks. My mum used to nag at me ALL THE TIME not to spend money buying souveniers back, so I’m really glad that they loved this so much. Plus, the mooncakes were actually yummy! (They are actually produced by the reliable Maxim food group here in HK).

Besides the traditional mooncakes, they produce snowskin mooncakes as well which I didn’t manage to pick up before the trip.

Sorry I didn’t manage to get the mooncakes to everyone this time round! (I was actually stopped at customs bagcheck wondering why I was smuggling so many mooncakes out of the country). I’ll try to get more soon!
